The recent edition of GAT Expo Bogotá concluded with highly positive results.

Bogotá, September 26, 2025. – The recent edition of GAT Expo Bogotá concluded with highly positive results. One of the highlights was the strong presence of local operators from across Colombia’s regions, who traveled to the capital to experience first-hand the latest innovations, test cutting-edge products, and strengthen relationships with suppliers of machines and services in casinos, cybersecurity, new payment methods, furniture, and more.

During the official opening ceremony and traditional ribbon-cutting, authorities and industry leaders participated, including Marco Emilio Hincapié, President of Coljuegos; Elizabeth Maya, President of Cornazar; Manuel Del Sol, CEO of Novomatic Colombia & Caribbean; Luz Estella Correa, Executive Director of Fedelco; Maribel Córdoba, Manager of the Cundinamarca Lottery; Gustavo González, Manager of the Cauca Lottery; Mario Yepes del Portillo, President of the Extraordinary Lottery of Colombia; and Luis Felipe Aponte Landínez, from the Boyacá Lottery.

The Voice of Coljuegos

In his opening remarks, Marco Emilio Hincapié emphasized the progress made under his administration in combating illegal gambling in Colombia, which has resulted in the seizure and destruction of approximately 10,000 slot machines, online betting modules, bingo operations, and poker tables operating outside the law. He underlined that controlling illegality is essential to increasing tax revenues that support Colombia’s subsidized healthcare system, as is the granting of new licenses to brands that meet Coljuegos’ legal requirements. He also announced that new regulations are underway requiring manufacturers, suppliers, and importers of gaming machines to register in advance with Coljuegos. This initiative seeks to strengthen cooperation with the National Tax and Customs Directorate (DIAN) and tighten controls on gaming equipment entering Colombian territory.

The annual presence of Colombia’s regional diversity at GAT Expo Bogotá reaffirms the nationwide impact of the event and its role in decentralizing and expanding the sector. It also provides entrepreneurs with a unique opportunity to interact with the country’s most important associations and the national regulator. Visiting executives obtained from exhibitors not only innovative designs and functions in equipment but also special pricing tailored to the needs of large, medium, and small gaming halls.

The success of the event was reflected in more than 1,000 registrations, ensuring a constant flow of visitors throughout the day. Alongside the strong attendance of Colombian operators, delegations from 20 countries consolidated Bogotá as a qualified meeting point for the global gaming industry. From the Americas, representatives came from Argentina, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, the United States, Guatemala, Mexico, Panama, Peru, Puerto Rico, Uruguay, and Venezuela. From Europe, attendees represented Bulgaria, Spain, Italy, the United Kingdom, the Czech Republic, and Russia, while China was represented from Asia.

The expo unfolded as a dynamic event, with every booth receiving visitors throughout the day, underscoring the market’s strong interest in the solutions and technologies presented.
