The Dutch gaming operator, Kansspelautoriteit (KSA), is no stranger to handing out fines to those transgressing its rules. It has started 2025 in the same manner, dishing out a financial penalty of more than €1m to an online casino operating without a license.

created a new website called time2spin1.com to circumvent the block

According to the KSA, Alimaniere Sociedad de Responsibilidad operated through its casino website time2spin.com. Once that unlicensed website was blocked in the Netherlands, it created a new website called time2spin1.com to circumvent the block. Players could use their account from the original website on the second site.

The KSA has now blocked both sites, as well as dishing out the fine.

Michael Groothuizen, KSA Chair, explained that there were a number of factors that contributed to the €1.05m ($1.09) fine. He noted “a lack of age verification” as well as “inactivity costs” which players had to pay when they didn’t use their accounts in a certain timespan.

At the end of 2024, the KSA hit BetOnline.ag with a similar fine of €1.12m ($1.17m). That operator also facilitated gambling for Dutch residents without the necessary license.
