A progressive slot machine at the Gold Coast Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas has reached a jackpot total of $1m.

Renowned sports bettor Bill Krackomberger shared the impressive jackpot figure to X, including a video of the Double Gold slot machine, costing just 75 cents per pull. According to Krackomberger, the jackpot hasn’t been hit in at least 29 years.

The sports bettor’s post prompted a mixed response from X users. Some claimed that the total meant the slot was due. Brian Kanouse said simply “I’m in,” while MattyJackpots exclaimed: “I’m en route. That machine is due!” Another said he would “generally avoid single-payline games” but would “play $20 through that at 75c.”

Others were far more sceptical. One user called Ryan Pope deemed it “one of the best scams there is.” Another said “that’s not a progressive, that’s a hustle.”
