The UK Gambling Commission has issued a stark warning to its licensed B2B iGaming suppliers, urging them to exercise due diligence so their technology is not used to power illegal gambling.

In a Monday statement, the UKGC said it had “become aware of casino games supplied by licensed operators appearing on unlicensed websites available to Great British consumers illegally.”

The regulator called on B2B suppliers proving “live games, live casinos and slots” to help the Commission tackle illegal gambling by reviewing their internal policy.

The UKGC added game aggregators and various third party resellers, are “in some instances […] distributing games supplied by operators to the illegal market, often in breach of their contractual obligations.”

The regulator ended by stating “Commission licensees may have been negligent in allowing them to do so and in the process, place their own licence at risk.”

The UKGC added it expects suppliers to notify the Commission of suspected illegal contracts and act fast to resolve the issue. The national regulator further warned “it may decide at any point to conduct test purchasing activity to evidence potential breaches”
